Art Around the World

This term in Visual Arts, 1/2DW will be looking at art from around the world. Each week we will be 'travelling' to a different country and will look at an example of art from that country. We will then have a turn at making our own version of that type of art.
Last week we started in Australia and looked at Aboriginal X-Ray Art created by the Aboriginal people living in he Northern Territory (Arnhem Land). We cut out a fish shape and drew patterns on the fish, like the patterns we saw on examples of X-ray art. We then put the fish on a brown background, as traditionally, X-ray art was done on rocks or pieces of bark.
At the end of our art lesson, we get a stamp in our passports for the country we visited. We then get to spin the activity spinner to find out where we will be going next.

Next week, we will be visiting China and making Lion Puppets!
